Mahito shows his philosophy to Junpei: being a reviled soul equipped for changing the state of an individual's spirit, he considers individuals to be dispensable, having no hearts but instead all being reused from the very spirits that make their body. Junpei, cheerful at being told he can kill without having a blameworthy outlook on it, heads home yet has a showdown with his educator. He is going to kill his educator when Yuji and the poor quality revile interfere with them, and Yuji takes the instructor off and requests to walk Junpei home. In the mean time in the sewer frameworks, Nanami goes up against Mahito. Mahito sees Nanami, a 1st grade alchemist, as an ideal device for his examinations. They battle, and in the process Nanami understands that the changed people Mahito makes are in reality live and enduring, which enrages him. Nanami hits additional time and starts to utilize his full ability to battle Mahito.
